The finals tournament was initially scheduled to be held in September 2019. However, it was moved to March 2020, with the original host metropolis being Nairobi, Kenya. Botswana, Malawi, and Mozambique progressed from the Southern area in November 2018. The Japanese qualifier was to be played in Nairobi in July 2018. However, it did not take place; Kenya and Uganda were automatically superior to the finals. The match was decreased to 10 overs per facet attributable to rain.
